Overview

The Shop and Establishment Act is a state legislation that governs working conditions, hours of operation, and employee rights for all commercial establishments ?' including offices, shops, warehouses, and service businesses. Registration is mandatory under the respective state's act and must be obtained within 30 days of opening. Operating without registration can result in penalties and forced closure.
